HIGH PERFORMANCE DESCENDENT DEVICES: SFD8

The double 8 or SFD8 was designed by Fabienne Borie and Thierry Saunier, it is a very versatile descender, with versatility and ease of use, which maintains simplicity as the basic principle of its design.

The “Comité Départemental de Spéléologie et de Canyonisme des Bouches-du-Rhône (CDSC13)” is the heir and current manufacturer of the SFD8. The CDSC13 belongs to the departmental structure of the “Fédération Française de Spéléologie”.

The SFD8 is one of the best high-level tools available to the confirmed canyoner/canyoner. It can be used as a personal descender or as a collective tool for use in installing the rope. Its use is easy and safe.

For all this, the CDSC13, will explain all the details and secrets of the SFD8, showing the multitude of use options: in single normal and vertaco, in double rapid and carabiner, with small diameter ropes, in large verticals.
